Native Plant Sale - Supports Mitchell County Environmental Education

Enhance your garden with beautiful native plants while supporting environmental education in Mitchell County! Join us for our annual Native Plant Sale (all sales benefit the Mitchell County Environmental Education Foundation and its mission).

• Event Details:

*  Date: May 10th

*  Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

*  Location: 1879-3 Hwy # Osage, Iowa 50461 Milton R. Owen Nature Center

*  Directions: West out of Osage Iowa, north of Cedar Bridge Park

*  Parking: West end of Milton R. Owen Nature Center Parking Lot

• Plant List:

• Ohio Spiderwort: Spreads easily, blooms in early spring with vibrant blue flowers. A low-maintenance ground cover.

• New England Aster: A late-season bloomer providing a beautiful purple hue, essential for fall landscapes.

• Butterfly Milkweed: Bright orange clusters attract Monarch butterflies, an essential plant for their survival.

• Purple Prairie Clover: Unique, showy purple blooms beloved by native bees.

• Virginia Mountain Mint: Fragrant, aromatic foliage releases a refreshing mint scent.

• Broom Sedge: Creates great texture and movement; turns vibrant bronze in the fall.
